Geolantis.360 – integrating spatial data collection, management and workforce planning into a cost-effective solution
Director Utility Mapping Pty Ltd, Australia
Utility Mapping started on a journey 18 months ago to migrate and integrate all planning and operational aspects of the business to Geolantis.360 using the Workforce platform. Geolantis.360 is a highly configurable cloud based system that combines spatial planning, data acquisition and management, work force planning, project and task management, business management system (BMS) as asset management into an easy to use cloud and mobile platform. The system allows managers and coordinators to plan all operations via spatially connected tasks in which the scope work or site instructions are included as well as task specific checklists and forms that need to be completed recorded in field to ensure compliance to the client’s needs. All field staff utilise the Geolantis application on their mobile phone or tablet to complete their daily tasks, enter timesheet records and perform the necessary safety and quality checks to safely complete the task. The next phase of the implementation plan for Utility Mapping is integrating the Geolantis.360 Collector module into the overall system. This presentation overviews the implementation journey to date as well as the new capabilities and streamlined processes involved in field data capture when using Geolantis Collector with the Zeno 20, the new Leica GG04 plus (designed for the iOS platforms) and the trials with integration data work flows with the Leica Opera Duo Pro ground penetrating radar (GPR) and electo-magnetic induction (EMI) devices. The configurable workflows within Geolantis allows us to connect and capture all spatial and asset information via iOS devices such as an iPhone and iPad. We will also review the integration of 3rd party utility data sets to provide the end client with an up to date map of their utility services environment.
